The Main Gate (正門 Seimon) is a location from ICO.

Walkthrough

First visit

When you go out to the main gate for the first time, a cutscene begins with the gate closing and the Queen appearing. After the cutscene is over, move the eight pillars and set them inside the slots. Then, all the torches at the main gate and the drawbridge will be lit, and you can return to the drawbridge with Yorda.

Second visit

After going through the Drawbridge, Chandelier, the ground of the Drawbridge, and returning to the gate again, you will see it shining. When you approach this gate with Yorda, the gate opens with her power and a bridge to the other side of the river is formed. However, Yorda then seems to run out of strength and can barely walk, so you have to walk slowly. Furthermore, when she reaches the center of the bridge...

Development History

PS1 Era

Main Gate, or st04a, originally looked quite different when compared to its final incarnation. For one, it connected to st07a (Chandelier) directly, with no Drawbridge stage in-between. It also featured watchtowers, with at least one having a mannable machine gun turret.

PlayStation Underground (June 2000)

A glimpse at the early PS2 iteration of st04a was shown in the PlayStation Underground 4.2 disc. It's a short segment, but the door leading to Chandelier could be seen, as well as paths going up on both sides, which were also seen in the diagram from the PS1 version.
